An interesting experience this morning. Two large glass bowls fell about 5 feet onto a granite kitchen counter, shattering in to 10’s of millions of pieces of glass shards and dust. The glass explosion covered >25′ radius, including 5 different rooms and every counter surface in sight. It even reached inside closets that had the door shut. The largest piece was only about 1″ and most were finer than sand on a beach. I think it’s realistic to say that we will likely never find and clean up every single shard, in spite of hours sweeping, vacuuming, moping and wiping. Heck of a demonstration of the laws of physics.

Got rid of a 10+ year old junk receiver and entered the modern world of AV/HDMI. A full afternoon later stringing 10,000 cables and programming the Logitech universal remote, it’s a slick setup. Even the wife approves of the purchase! She especially loves the graphical on-screen iPod feature.
