If you own a desktop computer older than 3 years and have never cleaned it, do so now before it bites the dust… literally. Note… this puppy ain’t mine. It died via thermal shutdown about 30 minutes after power on. Recoverable…TBD.

New Apple store

Geek update: Apple is opening a brand new store directly across from our Reston office in the town center. Guess I’m just ahead of the curve w/my new MacBook Pro.

Intentional obsolescence

5 year old Android tablet… most popular apps install and run. 5 year old iPad Mini… 90% of popular apps won’t install, rendering it nearly useless. This issue isn’t directly Apple’s fault, as there is a way for developers to support older versions of the iOS… they simply don’t as a rule.
