Decided to go for broke and mount the flat screen on the wall vs. having it sit on the stand. Finished product looks clean. It seems trivial, but do to the way the studs lined up in the wall and the weight of the 60″ screen, I had to create a fully custom mount for the bracket. Took about 5 hours and a trip to Home Depot to get it right. On the plus side, I ended up getting a new Ryobi router out of the project 🙂
