Just finished a dark, yet very interesting post-apocalyptic novel where oil is long gone and widespread mutating gene engineered viruses are an every day battle. In today’s day and age of “go green” and H1N1, it’s been a thought provoking read.
Learned two lessons this morning: 1. A normal car floor jack is utterly useless for an SUV or pickup. 2. Off brand generators from big box stores are all of the cheap’o pieces of crap that you would imagine.
Tried to be prepared and bought eclipse glasses well ahead of time; but, thx Amazon, they are fakes. So decided to go old school, but F’d it up with WAY to big of a hole. Ok… minds out of the gutter folks. And no I didn’t copy POTUS and simply look straight at the sun… […]
