3D Printed Battery Holder

In order to try and solve the comfort and battery life issues with the Quest 2, I went on Thingiverse and found a strap attachment for the Q2 and a USB power brick. Unfortunately, it’s not the same power brick that I own, so I had to figure out a way to adapt it.

Using the Autodesk Fusion 360 modeling software (a sort of 3D version of the engineering ubiquitous AutoCad), I designed, modeled and printed an adapter for my power brick shown in pink. It works like a charm and aptly demonstrates the power of home 3D printing!

The 3D modeling and printing world has an Open Source model very similar to OS software and Thingiverse, Printables, and a few other sites are specialized versions of GitHub for this purpose. So after I finished creating my derivative model, I uploaded it to these sites to let others with a Q2 headset and power brick to print the necessary parts themselves.
