Oh how I do HATE cheapo consumer grade chain saws! All I wanted to do was cut a few limbs for spring cleanup. Instead I spent 4 hrs taking apart the carb, replacing the fuel line, replacing the pull rope, and finally the spark plug, only to find that it has a trashed reed valve that I can’t really replace easily. I would say that they’re all garbage, but that would be too big of an insult to poor innocent garbage. Done with ’em. I’m going to go electric for my small home cutting needs and go with a tree service for anything larger.
Note that it doesn’t have to be this way… I’ve owned a Ryobi Pro grade trimmer for over 20 years and no matter how much abuse it receives and how long it’s been sitting around, it starts on the 1st pull every single time without fail or drama.
